The Dam

Lepas Het Rembrandthuis, we retraced our way back to The Dam... the city's main square. I figured that by then we would have walked at least 5kms. Kaki dah mula penat and it was hot.

Bila sampai The Dam, there were a lot of people there... people passing by, people loitering... macam2 jenis orang ada. I bought an ice-cream and sat down to give my aching feet a rest and to look at people. Dutch men are quite good looking... Skinner highlighted that to me early on. I totally agree :)

There was a monument kat situ, not sure what it is exactly, but ambik je lah gambar, hehe.

Sambil tengah lepak tu, we noticed a group of people holding placards and offering free hugs. "Skinner... tengok tu", I highlighted to her. It was quite amazing to see absolute strangers hugging each other. Orang tua, orang muda, kanak-kanak, orang putih, orang hitam, orang Asia... everyone had smiles.

Lepas dah lepas kan penat, we walked towards the Koninklijk Paleis (Royal Palace). Sambil jalan tu, we were approached by the "free huggers". "Would you like to hug?" a guy asked me. At first I felt a bit sceptical and then I thought why not. "Sure" I said and we hugged. Skinner did the same. We asked them why they were doing this and he just said that they wanted to spread love and happiness around, because there's so much pergolakan in the world today... they wanted to make people feel that there is still a lot of love and good in the world. Awww... isn't that just nice? And I got to hug a guy with a good firm body too, hehe...
